Which one is dirtier, socks or underwear?
It is generally believed that socks are “dirty”, and underwear needs to be kept “clean”. Washing them together may cause germs.

But the cruel truth is that underwear is more “dirty” than socks!
Studies have shown that in addition to bacteria and secretions, each pair of underwear will also have about 0.1 grams of feces. These feces contain about 1 billion bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Bifidobacterium, and Streptococcus. , Bacteroides… and the indole, hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans produced by the bacteria contribute an unpleasant smell (so friends, be sure to change your underwear every day).

As for socks, although they may have a sour peculiar smell after being stuffy in the shoes for a day, it does not mean that the bacteria on the feet are more harmful! It is because a large number of sweat glands are distributed on human feet, and the products after sweating are decomposed by bacteria, which will produce peculiar smell.

The bacteria on the feet are mainly concentrated in the crevices of the toes, and it is easy to survive in a humid, sultry, and closed environment. If the bacteria on the feet are transferred to other body parts, it is difficult to multiply without such an environment. So, as long as it is a healthy jio, your socks are really not that dirty!

But from a practical point of view, the microorganisms on underwear and socks are not so tenacious. Everyone uses soap/detergent to wash clothes every day, and then the process of drying/drying can guarantee the antibacterial and disinfection effect. Underwear and socks can be cleaned, so there is no need to worry about “cross-infection.”
